The Coweta Chamber of Commerce Board has named Martha Sewell as Executive Director.   Martha accepted the position on Friday, April 25th.

 

Martha and her husband Ted have lived in the Coweta area since 1954.   They have two children, Angela Gatz, a Nurse for St. Francis Hospice and member of the Board of Education for Coweta Public Schools, and Kenneth Sewell, who is Director of Clinical Psychology at the University of North Texas in Denton.  They have seven grandchildren.   Martha and Ted have attended the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy since 1971.

 

A graduate of Coweta High School, Martha served as a Customer Service Representative for Metlife Insurance Company for 15 years before retiring in 1992.  This will not be Martha's first stint as Executive Director of the Coweta Chamber of Commerce.  She served in the same capacity from 1995 to 1998. 

 

"At this point in time, Martha represents all of the qualities needed in the position of Executive Director  - honesty, integrity and trustworthiness," stated Chamber President, Greg Miller, "we are thankful to have her on board."

Martha's duties will officially begin on Thursday, May 1st.  A "meet and greet" event has been scheduled for Thursday, May 8th  from 10am to 3pm at the Chamber of Commerce Office, located at 107 S. Broadway in Coweta.   Community members are encouraged to stop by for refreshments and to welcome Martha as Executive Director of the Coweta Chamber of Commerce.
